New Patients at Spurback Family Chiropractic
If you’re visiting our Amherst chiropractic care center for the first time, we’d like you to know exactly what to expect. We want your time with us to be relaxing and confidence-inspiring.
Your Initial Visit
Your first visit with us will take anywhere from an hour to an hour and 45 minutes. We accomplish a lot of crucial diagnostic testing during this appointment. This state-of-the-art testing will help us to get to the root of your problem quickly and efficiently.
When you first enter the clinic, you’ll be warmly greeted by Becky and Tamorah, our front desk managers. You’ll be invited to sit down to finish any incomplete paperwork while they gather your insurance information.
Next, you’ll be escorted to our exam room where you’ll meet our doctor. Dr. Jodi will then conduct an in-depth assessment, beginning with a detailed health history. You’ll then be given gowning instructions, and the doctor will begin the diagnostic part of your examination. This part of the evaluation is non-invasive and will include
- Computerized spinal scan technology. This testing will first measure inflammation levels in your spine by comparing skin temperature from one side to the other.
- Scan protocols to determine how efficiently the communication is between your nerves and muscles
- Heart rate variability (HRV) measuring the adaptability of your body to stress
- Digitalized X-rays
The Conclusion of Your First Visit
At the end of your first visit, the doctor will evaluate your examination and X-rays findings to help you understand the source of your problem. She’ll then discuss customized care choices to help you start feeling and functioning your best and answer any questions. You’ll then receive your first gentle chiropractic adjustment.
Following your adjustment, our front desk managers will discuss any relevant insurance issues with you, as well as financing options. They’ll also answer any additional questions that you may have before scheduling your next appointment.
Subsequent Sessions
Most visits will take anywhere between 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the severity of your condition. We never like to rush our patients through an appointment. We want our time together to be quality time.
